At CanGuard.org we recognize that our members are concerned about the privacy of the information that we collect from our members and our plans for using this information. CanGuard.org collects personally identifiable information (name, e-mail address, etc.) and/or demographic data (city, postal code, zip code, school and company names, interests, etc.) that you submit when you do the following:

1) Register for our services; 
2) Complete a survey; or

4) Communicate with us by other methods such as telephone, chat, video conferencing or other communication tools or third-party software.

1. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

When you register as an instructor/administrator/manager/student, we ask for your name, e-mail address and other profile information. When instructor/administrator/managers register a student, we ask for their student’s name, e-mail address, and other profile information. We may request additional profile information for optional online surveys and identification verification.

When you register as a student, or when a instructor/administrator/manager adds a student, we ask for credit card and billing information. That information remains secure and inaccessible to CanGuard.org. For that reason, when you change your plan type or add a new student, credit card information must be resubmitted, unless alternative arrangements are made with your specific organization. Credit card information can be submitted online during online registration. Alternatively, credit card information can be provided to an CanGuard.org or Linkonlearning Inc. representative when registering by fax or phone at a valid listed number in the contact us page. It is a good practice to know the valid CanGuard.org and Linkonlearning Inc. phone numbers, and to hang-up and call-in to ensure that you are speaking with a legitimate representative. In these cases, the credit card information is entered into the system on behalf of the client and the information secured and made inaccessible.

In the course of using our website, we log certain information, including your IP address, the browser you are using, and the previous URL you were visiting. CanGuard.org uses IP addresses (random numbers assigned to individual computers) to help administer our website and anonymously track content preferences and traffic patterns. We also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website.

We use cookies (small text files transferred from our website to your hard drive) to recognize repeat users, track usage behaviour, and facilitate your access to and use of our site. We use your e-mail address and, in some situations, your mailing address or your phone or fax number to contact you when necessary. (For example, an agent of CanGuard.org may contact you to ensure you are satisfied with the service or to update your account.)
